Notes
Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken; The answer to Harsh Winter
This slow cooker creamy chicken stew is so easy to make that it almost feels like cheating. Yes, it’s that simple! The ingredients list long, but it’s mostly easy to prep vegetables. It comes together in 15 minutes, less if you have someone helping you.
Any creamy soup will work, but if you’re in Japan your options might be limited. Some supermarkets will have a small Campbell’s soup selection. If you have a Kaldi Coffee shop in your neighborhood, go there. They often have about half a dozen types of Campbell’s soups to choose from. As bonus, Kaldi has the cheapest prices on Campbell’s soup that I’ve seen in Japan.
If you’re still having difficulty finding soup, you can always get it on Amazon.
Can’t find the specific soup flavors in this recipe? No problem, see below.
Take It To The Next Level
Taking this slow cooker masterpiece up a notch is easy. Just make some Drop Dead Easy Rock Biscuits.
Besides biscuits, there are a few other ways you change and improve this recipe.
Instead of using plain, boring salt to spice up your chicken, reach for some Jane’s Krazy Salt. It’s my favorite kitchen cheat.
Before serving, add some fried French onions to the top. They add some extra crunch. Do be careful, as they are salty.
Lastly, feel free to get creative with the soup choices. Personally, I found that cream of chicken and mushroom work best together, but if you can’t find those flavors you can go for something else. I’ve used cream of pumpkin, cream of tomato, cream of corn, amongst others. The final product has always turned our delicious.
Boogie with Stu, or in this case stew. Doesn’t matter, this is the perfect music for this type of down home country cooking.
